About the role: The Municipality of Colchester is seeking a reliable person to work as a Crossing Guard at Valley Elementary School. Our Crossing Guards play an important role in keeping children safe on their way to and from school. The ideal candidate must be a responsible, reliable, safety-driven, and community-minded individual who will maintain positive public relations and who has a sincere interest in this type of work. Superior attendance and punctuality is critical.

This is a term position until the end of the 2026 school year in June, with potential for continuation. Ability to start immediately is an asset.

The successful candidate will work two hours each school day, from 7:30am-8:30am and from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, totaling 20 hours biweekly.

Salary: $18.36 per hour, plus 6% vacation pay. Salary also includes any scheduled school in-service days and any school closures.

Education & experience required:

  • Must have own transportation to commute to the crosswalk
