About the role: The Youth Physical Activity Day Camp Leader is a summer student position that will provide leadership, guidance, safety, and act as a role model for youth between the ages of 5 – 12 who will be participating in Physical Activity Day Camp during July and August. The Day Camps rotate to several rural locations throughout Colchester County and offer a variety of sport and recreation opportunities to youth. Youth Physical Activity Day Camp Leaders will also be responsible to assist in organizing day camp activities and implementing programs; assist in other community related programs such as celebrations and events.
Salary: $17.50-$18.50/hr, full-time hours
Qualities to succeed in the role:
· Exceptional interpersonal skills
· Possess problem solving ability
· The position requires motivated and organized individuals.
Education & experience required:
· Experience working with youth in a sport or recreation setting.
· Experience with program planning and leadership.
· Requires training in First Aid and CPR and background police record checks prior to the Day Camp start date.
· Directed at students enrolled in Recreation, Kinesiology or Early Childhood Education
· Applicants must be full-time students and intending to return to school on a full-time basis the next academic year.
