About the role: The Special Events Coordinator will assist in coordinating and promoting special events, programs and activities within the Municipality of Colchester directed at active living, wellness, recreation, and inclusion for all residents within, and visitors to the community. The Special Events Coordinator will attend and support various community events, such as Colchester Bike Week, Step into Spring, Cobequid Trail Run, Not Since Moses Run, Community Wellness Challenges, Wild Blueberry Festival, as well as promoting and administering programs to include but not limited to, Local Senior Games and Fundy Senior Games. The Special Events Coordinator is also responsible for communications and networking in support of special events and activities and assisting in the development of new opportunities to build community awareness.
 
Salary:   $17.50-$18.50/hr, full-time hours. Some work outside of regular hours will be required.

  • The position requires motivated and organized individuals.
 
Education & experience required:
  • Experience working with Community Groups/Organizations
  • Experience with event planning, program planning and leadership
  • Police background checks are conditions of employment
  • Directed at students enrolled in Recreation, Marketing, Public and Community Relations
  • Applicants must be full-time post-secondary students intending to return to school on a full-time basis in the fall.

Compensation
