About the role: The Municipality of Colchester is looking for enthusiastic and motivated students to work as part of a two-person environmental protection crew. There are several different aspects of this job which include the following: Participating in litter abatement, remediation of properties that receive illegal waste, litter clean-up along roadsides as well as around our site in Kemptown, participating in solid waste audits, both in a warehouse setting to audit recycling loads as a quality assurance measure and in the field ensuring both residential and commercial waste management compliance along with the promotion of proper waste management practices, participating in public events which may include waste drop off events, like day camps and the farmer’s market.
Location: Material Recovery Facility, 185 Mingo Road, Kemptown
Salary: $17.50- $18.50/hr, full-time Monday-Friday (4-month term May-August). May be required to work outside of regular hours.

Qualities to succeed in the role:
· Motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic
· Possess attention to detail and ability to multi-task
· Work cooperatively in a team environment
· Ability to perform moderate to heavy labour with or without accommodation. This position may require extensive walking on uneven terrain and lifting.
Education & experience required:
· Full-time student and returning to school on a full-time basis the next academic year
· Experience using Microsoft Office software
· Understanding of waste management practices, an asset
