About the role: We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy student to join our IT department for the summer as a PC Technician. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience troubleshooting computer hardware, installing and configuring software, and supporting end-users in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for technology, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn, we’d love to hear from you! Responsibilities to include:
·        PC Setup & Configuration: Set up and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other computer peripherals.
·        Software Installation & Updates: Install and update software, operating systems, and drivers as needed.
·        Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and networks.
·        User Support: Provide basic help desk support for internal staff, escalating issues to the IT team when necessary.
·        Documentation: Accurately record and track issues, solutions, and equipment inventory in ticketing systems or documentation logs.
 
Salary:   $18.50/hr, full-time Monday-Friday (4-month term May-August)
 
Qualities to succeed in the role:
·        Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take initiative
·        Time management and organizational skills
·        Ability to communicate technical concepts in user-friendly manner.
 
Education & experience required:
·        Post-secondary student enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and returning to studies in the fall.
·        Basic knowledge of hardware components and operating systems (Windows, macOS).
·        Familiarity with common office productivity software (Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.)
·        Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting) is a plus.
